Beautiful Oops

Glow

This is my beautiful oops artwork. This piece is of a canadian goose and a swan. the goose is eating by a tree and the swan is swimming in a pond. I used many materials for this project. I started with a piece of paper that had some random in drops on it. I thought one of the drops looked like a birds head, so i sketched out a goose. Another, i thought looked like a tiny tree. I sketched out a tree making the ink it's shadow. Using water-color, I painter the sky, grass, and the little pond in the corner. I used ink and a stencil to make circles in the sky and grass. i used colored pencil for my goose and paint pens for my swan.

This piece is made with an informal balance. This means one side of the piece has more objects than the other making the "weight" imbalanced. The tree and more towards one side of the page, and the swan is on the same side making it the more weighted side. The grass and sky were made with a soft focus, it is not sharp.

My project definitely evolved since i started it. I was not originally planning to have a swan in it. I was not until i spilt ink in the pond that i wanted to change it. I painted the swan on it thinking the ink spot might look like a shadow. If i could change anything in my artwork, I would remove or change the spots leading to the water. they are not very visible, but i was unhappy with how they turned out.
