Belonephobia - Fear of pins and needles

For this project, I wanted to try to work on more technical skills, while furthering my concentration. I started by sketching the composition. I had three hands, one holding a balloon and two others trying to puncture it with needles. I wanted each hand to be created with a different material, at varying levels of realism. I used pen, charcoal, and oil pastels. I used magazine clips for the actual balloon. I used ink in the background to create little creatures, looking like popping balloons. These were meant to represent little viruses trying to infect the good inside the balloon. I then added accents in white charcoal to add movement in the background.
