ACR: Area Change Request
ACT: American College Testing. One of the major standardized tests used for college admissions.
AP®: Advanced Placement®. College-level courses available to MVHS students.
COCC: Central Oregon Community College. Our local two-year college; also our Expanded Options partner.
CRLE: Career-Related Learning Experience. Oregon requires students to have career-related learning in high school. Many MVHS courses meet this requirement.
CTE: Career & Technical Education. CTE programs at MVHS include Agriculture Science, Automotive Technology, Business, Construction Technology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Engineering, and Media Arts.
FBLA: Future Business Leaders of America. This dynamic club is part of the Business program at MVHS.
FFA: Future Farmers of America. This highly active club is part of the Agriculture Science program at MVHS.
GPA: Grade point average. This is the average value of all the grades a student has earned so far in high school; it is used to calculate class rank.
NAIA: National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. This athletic association is composed of hundreds of smaller colleges and universities in North America. Students who hope to play college sports at an NAIA college should familiarize themselves with eligibility requirements.
NCAA: National Collegiate Athletic Association. This large athletic association is composed of more than a thousand large colleges and universities. Students who hope to play college sports at an NCAA college should familiarize themselves with eligibility requirements.
OSAA: Oregon State Athletic Association. This nonprofit organization regulates high school sports and activities in Oregon. Students who wish to participate in sports or competitive activities at MVHS should familiarize themselves with the MVHS Athletics Office.
OSAC: Office of Student Access and Completion. This is a State of Oregon department that helps students plan and pay for college via scholarships and grants.
POLO: Proctored Online Learning Option. This is a class period in the computer lab at MVHS where students can work on their Bend-La Pine Online courses in a supervised environment.
SAT: Scholastic Aptitude Test. One of the major standardized tests used for college admissions.
