Academic Planning

Let's Get Started.

Mountain View High School (MVHS) offers a variety of courses that are educational, interesting, and practical. Together with the counselor, you can use the information on this site to create an overall plan and request courses that will help you reach your goals during the next four years and beyond.

Each academic department at MVHS has provided a course progression chart for this course catalog. These charts are intended to give you a quick roadmap to see which courses to take from year to year. Please note that all courses listed on this site are dependent upon staffing availability and student interest level.

Explore Your Options.

As you look through the available courses at MVHS, you will notice certain designations beneath the course descriptions. These will give you important information about a course.

  • College credit: If a course can be taken for Oregon college credit, it will be noted.

  • Capstone courses: If a course is designated a capstone course, it will be noted, as will the grading scale (5.0-point scale or 4.0-point scale).

  • Career-related Learning Experiences (CRLEs): If a course can be counted toward Oregon’s CRLE graduation requirement, it will be noted.

  • Diploma credit area: Each course description notes the graduation credit requirement the course fulfills (language arts, mathematics, science, world studies, US history, social studies, PE, health, world language, applied arts/fine arts, or elective).
