In Senior Survival, you can expect to learn all the adulting things you will need in your life beyond high school. Half of the class will consist of cooking basics, and the other half will be learning topics like personal finance, credit, banking, taxes, how to buy a used car, find an apartment, insurance, and all those things that will help you succeed in the real world.

On a typical day in Senior Survival you might learn basic cooking techniques, followed by a day cooking in the lab or participating in discussions and activities on the current topic. (For example, you might learn about credit cards and then research and compare different credit cards.)

There is no homework, unless you don't finish your work in class. The work is easy and the content is useful.

Tests in Senior Survival are straightforward. We always have a study guide and review beforehand that will let you know exactly what content is included.

Students saw the value of the topics covered and were really happy to graduate with a better understanding of banking and credit. Students felt better prepared to move out on their own and handle adult decisions.
