The Culinary Advanced Projects course is for the serious culinary student looking for a challenge. We will focus on refined professional techniques, café management, catering, and local competitions. You will also have the opportunity to pursue your own culinary goals. Scroll down for questions and answers about this class!

Length: Year ● Credit: 1.0 ● Prerequisite: Grade of C or higher in Culinary Arts 2

  • You will have the opportunity to meet the Career-Related Learning Experience (CRLE) graduation requirement in this course.

  • This course may be repeated for credit.

Diploma Credit Area: Applied/Fine Arts (FA)

If you have already fulfilled your FA requirement, this course will transcribe as elective (EL) credit.

What can I expect in this class?

In Culinary Advanced Projects, you can expect to cook almost every day. We do all the catering and production for school events and promotions. We learn about running a food service establishment, create our own menus, and have internal cooking competitions.

What does a typical day in this class look like?

A typical day in Culinary Advanced Projects might include making 400 mini cupcakes for First Friday!

What about homework?

All work should be done during class time.

What about tests?

There are no tests. This class is entirely project-based.

Is there a prerequisite for this class?

Before taking Culinary Advanced Projects, you should already have completed Culinary Arts 2 with a grade of C or higher.

What else do I need to know about this class?

This is a year-long class, and we will cook everything from cream puffs to carnitas.
