Journalism

Learn how to be an influencer through journalism.  In this course, you will learn the journalistic styles of writing news, features, sport stories, blogs and editorials. You will learn to think critically and conduct meaningful interviews. You will learn how to report on breaking news and communicate effectively through publications. What can I expect in this class?

In Journalism you can expect to explore different types of media and learn to express yourself and report in an effective way that grabs the reader's attention. You will get to investigate and interview people and use your voice to address issues that are meaningful to you. 

What does a typical day in this class look like?

On a typical day in this class, we will start with discussions on news topics and writing styles. We will then practice writing using different journalistic styles.

What about homework?

If you use your time well in class, you should not have homework.

What about tests?

We have two tests that cover journalistic terms, concepts, and ethics. We always have study guide and review so you will know exactly what to expect.

Why should I take this class?

You should take Journalism if you are curious and like to ask questions . . . and if you like to write!
