This next-step accounting course builds on the foundation of accounting principles and procedures you learned in Accounting 1. With a focus on analyzing and interpreting business transactions and financial statements, you will continue to practice accounting problems related to merchandising businesses and corporations. You will gain an understanding of industry-standard procedures, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), business ethics, business structure, management, and careers in accounting.   • Dual Credit Course: Students who pass this course and Accounting 1 may be eligible to receive Oregon college credit. Work with the teacher to coordinate college credit and pay any associated fees.

Accounting 2 homework is light, as most work done in class unless you are absent a lot.

Why should I take this class?

You should take this class if you loved crunching numbers and the "process" in Accounting 1. Accounting 2 dives deeper into the accounting process and becomes more challenging.

Is there a prerequisite for this class?

You must take Accounting 1 before taking Accounting 2. A grade of A or B in Accounting 1 is recommended.

What else do I need to know about this class?

Usually this class is taught within the same period as Accounting 1. You will work more independently but will have teacher direction and help as needed.
