Math 1

This is the general math course for most incoming freshmen. Students in this course will develop more skills in problem solving, reasoning, critical thinking, connections, and communication; building on their knowledge of expressions and equations, solving systems of equations, and functions. Students will encounter quadratic, exponential functions as well as examples of other nonlinear functions. What can I expect in this class?

In Algebra 1, you can expect to learn how to solve equations, graph lines, and work with exponents.

There is no homework in Algebra 1.

What about tests?

You will be tested on every module in Algebra 1. Tests represent most of the grade for this class, but you can retake them during math triage (offered daily during 7th period).
