Concert Band

Concert Band welcomes all students who would like to be a part of the Mountain View High School Band program. It is considered the next step after playing in middle school. In this course we will work on the fundamentals of playing, group and individual musicianship, and rehearsal and performance techniques. We will perform in a variety of settings, including concerts, pep band for football games, parades, adjudicated festivals, field trips, and other events as scheduled. Previous band experience is helpful but not required. If you played in middle school or you would like to learn how to play a wind instrument, this class is for you! Please note: Attendance for concerts, festivals, and adjudicated events is mandatory. Attendance for pep band and parades can be flexible depending on your work or sports schedule. You should take Concert Band if you want to continue playing your instrument after leaving middle school, or if you want to return to playing an instrument after some time off. If you've never played a wind instrument but would like to learn, Concert Band is your class!

What else do I need to know about this class?

You can absolutely play sports and be in band class. If you enjoy playing music and being an athlete, MVHS band will work with you to make it happen!
