Culinary Arts

Careers in the food and beverage industry are some of the most dynamic and competitive in the country! The MVHS Culinary Arts program will prepare you for culinary school as well as for jobs with restaurants, caterers, and bakeries. Through hands-on instruction in a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, you will begin by learning the basics of food and cooking, including nutrition, sanitation, and basic kitchen skills. As you progress through the program, you will be introduced to more complex recipes and ingredients and the underlying food science. Ultimately you will take part in real-world projects, including catering, internships, and culinary competitions.

The course offerings in the Culinary Arts CTE program at MVHS include Culinary Arts 1, Culinary Arts 2, Baking & Pastry, Global Cuisines, and Culinary Advanced Projects. Courses in the Culinary Arts CTE program are offered to all enrolled students without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.
