US History

US History explores the political, economic, social, and geographic forces that have shaped our nation. We will discuss the process of change and the forces that have molded our present way of life as we analyze our country’s successes, issues, and developments. During the first semester, you will review the Constitution, the conflict between big business and labor, the Progressive Era, World War I, and the 1920s. In the second semester, you will examine the Great Depression and the New Deal, World War II and its aftermath, the Cold War, the movements of the 1960s through to the Vietnam War, and the politics of the 1980s and 1990s.
