How do rocks, sediments and minerals provide us evidence about the history of oceans?
This lesson is designed to put physical evidence and other conceptual frameworks into the foreground. Students will examine rock samples and learn of specific examples where geologists have used evidence of processes to show how oceans have changed over time.
Warm Ups, etc:
Oceans and Tectonics - bridges the concepts of tectonics and specific geologic evidence
Rock Talk Questions - review the rock cycle and the information shared in discussions and observations of rock samples
