This lesson focuses on the origins and changes that have occured over the history of the earth. It explores the formation of oceans, the steady increase in salinity, and the changes in geography as a result of constant tectonic processes.

So…Where did it come from? - preview warm-up asking the students to hypothesize about the origins and changes in the ocean.

*Write/present these vocabulary on the board, have students guess/define (dictionary/digital device) prior to distributing reading selection
Cloze Handout Origins of Oceans/Presentation Origins of Oceans - Origins of Oceans, Changes of Oceans, Recent history of Oceans
Exit Slip- students compose a summary sentence for each of the main objectives of the lesson (origins/changes/Virginia)
