How do genes work?
This unit builds on the knowledge established in the previous unit by exploring how genes function. The processes of transcription and translation are examined, with specific focus on understanding how the sequence of DNA results in the specific shapes and functions of proteins. Also included in this unit are investigations into factors that regulate the processes of gene expression and the causes/effects of mutations.
