Summary of Study

Forty-eight of the 50 states have operational county governments. Our study looked at 64 counties that seemed most comparable to our own population figure. The County’s Charter Review Commission considered three proposals to change the current structure: expand the council to 11 members with eight from districts and three at-large; go to all-district representation; or maintain the current council size at nine members but require eight seats to be from districts with one at-large.
