Delegates to the League of Women Voters of California (LWVC) 1997 state Convention voted for development of an Action Policy on Sustainable Communities based on existing League positions. A statewide Task Force prepared a report (included in this Kit) which examined those positions relevant to sustainability, produced a Resource Toolkit for local Leagues (September 1998), and drafted the Action Policy, which was considered and approved at the 1999 Convention. The Action Policy is published in LWVC Action Policies and Positions 1999-2001 and is also included in this Kit. LWVC delegates voted at the 1999 Convention to make Sustainable Communities an Issue for Emphasis for two years. |
