The Washington State Conservation Commission (WSCC) is a small state agency created to assist and guide the state’s 47 conservation districts (CDs) as they work to conserve our natural resources. This study was done to promote interest in and understanding of the purpose, structure, and election process of Conservation Districts.  The study covers the process of electing supervisors to CDs; the history of conservation in Washington State; and current actions that may affect the election process of CDs, the structure of the WSCC, and the funding of CDs.
