UNIT on ART for the 6th GRADE – PROJECT on PADLET

1/ Listen and watch the Van Gogh video for your pleasure.

2/ Open Kandinsky's gallery and take a look at the paintings.

3/ Open the word document. You can print it and complete it OR just write the verbs in Past Simple form in your notebook. For example: 1) Snoopy celebrated.

4/ Add something on Padlet. Here are some ideas. Choose one.

] Choose a painting by Van Gogh or Kandinsky, copy it and paste it on a Word document. Write the title and the year it was painted, describe it in a few sentences and say why you liked it. Go to Padlet, double-click, write your name and drop the Word file. It will appear on the screen.

] Choose a painting by another artist (for example Monet or Chagall) copy it and paste it on a Word document. Write the title and the year it was painted, describe it in a few sentences and say why you liked it. Go to Padlet, double-click, write your name and drop the Word file. It will appear on the screen.

] Find a You Tube video about Van Gogh, Kandinsky or Charles Schulz (a Peanuts video for example, but a short one!) and paste the link on Padlet. Write under your name a description of the video and why you liked it. Your link will appear on the screen.

] If you love to draw, you can try to draw an Impressionist painting or a Peanuts comic strip with captions. Scan your drawing and save it in a Word document. Go to Padlet, double-click, write your name and drop the Word file. It will appear on the screen.

] Other ideas or suggestions are welcome! Talk to me if you have another idea.

So you have two tasks to complete:

1) Grammar: Past Simple with Snoopy - in your notebook.

2) Choose one of the ideas, follow the instructions and add your work on Padlet.

* You can do it in pairs.

* All the pupils from the 6th Grade will add their work on the same Padlet wall, so you can enjoy and share with everyone :)

Hope you enjoy it! Have fun
