Where in the World?-Digital Images Cont.
Introduction
We have received important communications that two famous landmarks are being threatened in some way. It is your job to locate these sites and have your photo taken there so that I know you were able to help out there, and discover the information we need about each location. Good luck!
Instructions
Click on each of the location links below to view the full image and the message for help that was received. Below the image, there will be information listed and questions that you will need to answer about the different locations as well. Use the internet to gather this information about each of the locations.
1. Read through the information about each location below.
2. Using the information given, find the answer to all of the questions asked about each location.
3. Log into your Best 8th Grade Portfolio
4. Find a picture online for each location, right click on the image and Save Image As to you’re My Pictures folder.
5. Using FotoFlexer, upload the image of your location and embed yourself (your
Avatar) into the image (using the Layers Tab).
6. Add at least 3 Effects and/or Decorations to this image
to your embedded image.
7. Save your embedded image with 3 Effects/Decorations to your My Documents
Folder.
8. Insert the embedded image with Effects/Decorations on to your Electronic
Portfolio on the +web page titled Where in the World?.
- Click on Where in the World on your sidebar
-Click on Insert on the top (left) of the page
-Click on Browse and locate your chosen location with Avatar image
embedded into it.
-Click Open and then when your picture loads select, OK
-Your location with Avatar image should now be inserted onto your Electronic Portfolio.
9. Answer All of the questions for each location underneath your embedded image on the Where in the World Page on your Electronic Portfolio.
10. When you are done with Locations 1 & 2 you will use the The Google World Wonders Project Online website to locate 3 more locations in which you will embed your Avatar onto and create 3 Effects and/or Decorations for (the same way as you did for Locations 1 & 2). You will then research and list 3 facts for each location you chose below your embedded image.
