  • Go to View-> Header and Footer. Type your name and hour in the Header box and click Close.

  • Click on View-> Toolbars and make sure the Drawing Toolbar has a check mark next to it.

  • You will go to Pics4Learning and locate 10 pictures that you will end up citing. Follow the directions below to do this.

When using pictures in any report here are the main steps (these steps are more detailed below):

1. Save the Picture

2. Insert the picture into your document

3. Format the Picture

4. Copy the URL/Citation for the picture from the website.

5. Copy the Bibliography of the picture.

6. Paste the website on or underneath a picture using a textbox.

1. Save the Picture:

Demonstrate how to get to this site from the Mrs. Maurus' Website, and pick a topic, then a picture. Show how to save this picture by right clicking on the picture, selecting Save Picture As, and then saving this picture to your documents.

2. Insert the picture into your document:

Click on Insert-> Picture-> From File. Browse for your picture and then click on the picture file. Your picture will appear on your docuemnt.

3. Format the picture:

Double click the picture (which will open up the formatting tools) and choose the tab titled Layout. Click on In Front of Text. This allows you to move the picture around the page freely.

4. Copy the URL/Citation for the picture from the website

Go back to the website where you got your picture, in pics4learning.com. Copy the URL (Web Address) - highlight it, right click on it, and choose copy. ** When I click on the URL, I should be taken to the web page with the EXACT picture you chose).**

5. Copy the Bibliography of the picture.

Go back to the website where you got your picture, in pics4learning.com. Copy the bibliography (under the picture you chose) - highlight it, right click on it, and choose copy.

6. Paste the website AND bibliography on or underneath a picture using a textbox

Go back to your document, insert a text box, and right click INSIDE the text box and paste the citation. I enocourage students to make the citation font size very small so as not to distract the picture, the move the textbox underneath or on top of the picture (whichever looks better). ** Make sure your pictures AND citations look neat**
