What is Social Bookmarking?

Social bookmarking is a way for you to organize, store, manage and search for bookmarks of online resources (websites). Social bookmarking websites act as a web based Favorites page, that is easily accessable from any computer.

Social bookmarking sites allow you to save links to web pages that you want to remember and/or share. These bookmarks are usually public, and can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, shared only inside certain networks, or another combination of public and private domains. People are then able to view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, or via a search engine.
