Creating and Editing Digital Images
Introduction
Your assignment is to have fun and create a digital image of yourself that you will upload onto your Electronic Portfolio.
Step 1:Creating an Avatar
Using one of the websites below, create an Avatar of yourself. Once you have created your Avatar, you will need to save your Avatar to your My Documents folder (Right Click->Save Image As).
Doppel Me – Create a Doppel Me character and then right-click and save (save picture as) the completed Avatar to your My Pictures folder. Instructions: dopplemedirections.pdf

Step 2: Creating a Background
Now that you have created your Avatar, it’s time to edit it and embed one of them onto your Electronic Portfolio.
1. Open up Paint (Type Paint in the Search the Web and Windows text box (To the right of the Windows icon in the bottom left corner) and press the Enter key. You will now create a detailed and well thought out background for your Avatar images.
2. Once you are done creating your background, click on File->Save As
3. In the Save as File Type box, click on .JPEG. .JPEG is the most universal file type for a photo.
4. Give your background a File Name and save your background to your My Pictures folder.
Step 3: Uploading Your Images To Be Funky
1. Go to Be Funky
2. Select Open and then click Computer .
3. Upload your background image first.
4. On the left hand side, click on the Images/Layers button and then click on Computer and upload your Avatar that you created in Step 1.
5. Crop your image, if needed. Cropping your image means that you are eliminating any distracting any parts of the image, changing the composition and size of the image, and/or changing the horizontal and vertical orientation of the image.
6. Move your Avatar to the location of your choice and edit him/her if needed.
7. Use the Text tool to type your First Name's Portfolio and drag your text box somewhere onto your background.
8. Explore all of the tools within to Decorate and to add Effects to your image. Have fun decorating your image any way that you would like.

9. When your digital image is complete click on Save ->Computer->JPEG->Save.
Step 4: Adding Your Image to Your Electronic Portfolio
1. Log into your Electronic Portfolio
2. Click on the Edit Page tool on your Home page
3. Click on Insert
4. Locate your digital image WITH your background AND Avatar. More than likely this can be found in you Downloads file.
5. Click OK
