I can create a brochure using a web based add on in Google Drive: Lucidpress.

METS

RI.1- Use a variety of resources to locate information.

CI.2- Create an original project using a variety of media to present content information to an audience.

Introduction

The purpose of this activity is to create a theme park brochure using a web based application, for a chosen theme park. When gathering information about your chosen park, make sure that the material you include is interesting and the pictures you use will capture the attention of the intended audience. When planning your brochure, ask yourself what things would draw you to that park?

The reason theme parks create brochures is to encourage people to come visit their park.

Your goal is to create a brochure that will get kids your age and their parents to want to come and visit your amusement park.

You will also include a map of how to get to the park for people who are not familiar with the area.

Most of the time a map and directions to a theme park can be found on the theme park's website. Other useful websites to use for obtaining a map of your themepark is Google Images.

Directions

Click on the Theme Park Brochure Skeleton at the bottom of this page. This document should open up in your Google Drive. All of the requirements for your brochure can found on this document. Use this as a rough draft in order to better organize your information. This is a very open ended assignment. Your research and creativity are key to making this project successful.

You may choose a theme park from the following list or you may come up with one on your own ( Indoor and outdoor waterparks are okay too). Once your teacher has given you the OK, click on the park name to browse their web site:

1. Six FlagsTheme Parks (Choose Pick a Park)

2. Camden Park

10. Cedar Point

11. Dollywood

12. Busch Gardens

13. Michigan's Adventure

14. Kalahari

15. Castaway Bay

16. Great Wolf Lodge

17. Universal Studios

  • Your information should be organized as the attachment below shows (Please download and view the attachment below)

  • BE CREATIVE!!! Make sure you use enough pictures and graphics to make your brochure appealing to someone who is looking for a place to visit. Don't forget to include a road map of the area of your amusement park along with directions on how to get there. Include all the information stored in your Theme Park Worksheet (you do not need to include all state graphics, just the ones you think would enhance the look of your brochure). Assign the brochure a name that reflects the name of your theme park.

  • You will need a catchy slogan for your title page. If your theme park does not have an actual slogan, a great site that can help you create a catchy slogan is Sloganizer.
