Fancy Things Up In Power Point

Do each step to each slide, then go on to the next step.

Required On Each Slide As Part of Your Grade

1.Background (Each Slide Should Have A Different Background)

• • Color all backgrounds with different fill effect gradient.

  • Make sure the text is still easy to read.

  • Format-> Background-> (rectangle at bottom)-> Fill Effects-> Gradient

OR

• • • Use a Picture or image as your background

• • Copy and paste your picture or image, drag the corners so that it covers the entire slide, right click on the image/picture, click on Order-> Send to Back

2. Title

• • Change the titles with a new font, color, and bigger size (You may also use Word Art)

  • Highlight text-> right-click-> Font

OR

• • • You may also use Word Art for your titles.

You may also use one of the following websites to make Fancier titles

- 3-D Text Maker

- Cool Text

- Flaming Text Maker

- Signbot

3.Transitions

• • Set a different slide transition for each slide.

  • Do not time them.

  • Choose a slide-> Slide Show -> Slide Transition -> Click a transition on the right -> Change the speed.

  • You may set the same transition for each slide if you choose, but feel free to create a different transition for each slide.

4. Clip Art or Pictures/Images

• • Insert one different clip art on every slide.

  • Recolor them, if possible.

  • Do not add sound.

  • Insert-> Picture-> Clip Art

- Feel free to use Google Images, Pics For Learning, Animation Library, Classroom Clip Art, or any other appropriate site to find additional images.

5. Custom Animation (Be Creative With Your Animations)

• • • Custom Animate at least 1 group of words and/or pictures on each slide.

    • Starting with slide 1- Click on the words and/or pictures that you would like to animate.

    • Click on Slide Show -> Custom Animation (Custom Animation will show up on the right side of the screen) ->Click Add Effect

    • Follow the arrows to create each animation.

    • Pay close attention to the speed (Very fast is too fast)

    • Click OK when you have chosen each animation

6. Readability

• • Make all slides easy to read by changing the text color and size.

  • Make sure there are no spelling and/or grammar errors

Recommended (but not required) For Each Slide

1. AutoShapes

• • Insert one different AutoShape on every slide.

  • Change the fill and line colors.

  • Insert-> Picture-> AutoShapes

2.WordArt

• • Insert one different WordArt somewhere on every slide.

  • Do not delete titles.

  • Insert-> Picture-> WordArt

  • To put shapes behind words or objects: Right click on the shape or picture-> Click on Order -> Send to Back

** To put Word Art, Clip Art, or Pictures behind other words or pictures

Right click on the picture -> Order -> Send to Back **
