Each 'task' type in Ftrack has a set number of statuses which help defining the current stage of each task and if these require to be actioned or not by someone in the team.
The below table gives us an overview of each existent type of task and their different statuses.
Generic Task Statuses:
'Info Required' - Information is pending to initiate the task and therefore there is no action required.
'Ready to Start' - The task is ready to start by the Assignee. All information should either be under the 'Task' itself or under the 'Project Type' option.
'In progress' - The task has been started by the Assignee.
'For Review' - Assignee will change the status to 'For Review' once the task work is ready to be reviewed by the Internal Team.
'With Client' - PM has shared the task with the Client for review and we should be waiting for feedback. No action is required from the Assignee.
'Internal Amends' - The task work has been reviewed by the Internal Team and requires further amends before is shared with the Client. PM to update the task status in this instance. Assignee to change the status to 'In Progress' onde the amends are being actioned. Please note, a new internal team review may be required before sharing the work with the Client.
'Client Amends' - The task work has been reviewed by the Client and feedback requires to be actioned. PM to update the task status in this instance.
'Approved' - The task has been approved by the Client and status has been updated by PM.
'Completed' - Assignee marks the task as 'Completed' once when admin work is finalised and time logged is completed.
'On Hold' - We are not able to progress with the task either because information is missing, delay on feedback, changes to brief or others.
'Omit' - The task is no longer required and therefore is canceled. Tasks are not deleted once no longer required.
PMs are responsible for using statuses 'Info Required' and 'Ready to Start'.
Assignees are responsible for marking statuses as 'In Progress' and 'For Review'.
PMs are responsible for marking statuses as 'With Client', 'Internal Amends', 'Client Amends' , 'Approved', 'On Hold' & 'Omit'.
Once a task is marked as 'Approved' Assignees are responsible for time tracking and marking statuses as 'Completed' or 'Published' (in case is a 3D Modeling task).
3D Production Tasks
Applies to when CC/Retouch tasks are completed by another person that has not worked on the 'Lifestyle Set'.
PMs to change task status to 'Prep PSD' if task approved and requires to be CCed and Retouched.
3D Artists to change task status to 'PSD Ready' and save 'Comp File Path' under 'Lifestyle Set'.
3D Modeling Tasks
'Quality Checked' - Only applies to 3D Modelling Tasks. Once the 3D model has been internally QCed and validated by the Quality Control responsible, the task status is updated to 'Quality Cheched'. Please note, not all 3D Modelling tasks go through this task due to capacity.
'Published' - 3D Models are marked as 'Published' once uploaded in the Connector Prop Library by the 3D Modeller or the Asset Library Manager.
