How to Convert from DR to Tile Rendering:
S01: Initial State
S02: New Pass for Prepass
Here we make new Pass From the original Pass, move it above the pass, name it with sensible name like - ###_Prepass, and untick Save File (we don't need this EXR)
S03: Dont Render Image
On the prepass pass we tick Don't Render Image (we don't need images from the Prepass)
S04: Pre Pass Setup (this is what we need)
On the Prepass Pass we go to Render Setup -> Light Cache -> Set Mode to Single frame and tick Auto Save and navigate to scenes directory GI folder and put sensible name (like the original pass name + _IRR or _LC) and click Save.
IGNORE IRR MAP SETTINGS!! WE USE BF
S05: Beauty Pass Setup
On the Beauty Pass we go to Render Setup -> Light Cache -> Set Mode to From File and copy the file location from the Prepass (Copy, don't navigate because those files aren't created at this moment)
IGNORE IRR MAP SETTINGS!! WE USE BF
S06: Disable Distributed Rendering
Here we will disable Distributed Render on both passes (Prepass and Beauty Pass)
S07: Disable Force Workstation Mode
Select both passes (Prepass and Beauty Pass) navigate to Network -> Render -> Untick Force Workstation Mode, enable silent mode must be grayouted
S08: Set to Tile Rendering
On the Beauty Pass navigate to Network -> Tiles -> Tiles & Region Rendering Options and Select form the dropdawn list SINGLE FRAME TILE Rendering - Single Job, Tiles As Tasks.
Tick Cleanup Tiles After Assembly and Draft Assembly Job Error On Missing Tiles
S09: Tiles Setup
On the Beauty Pass navigate to Network -> Tiles -> Single-Frame Tile Rendering (it has ACTIVE: Infront, this is a good indication that we've activated it in the previous step)
Then set Tiles In X and Tiles In Y to 5 (this number could change in some cases), also we tick on Submit Dependant Assembly Job and Use Draft For Assembly.
S10: Submit!
Now we can submit the render. We submit both the Prepass and Beauty Pass.
S11: Deadline
After we are done with the submission we open Deadline Monitor and we have this situation:
One Task for the Prepass and one Group with two jobs, top one is the Tile Assembly which will combine our rendered tiles, bottom one is the Rendering sequence. When we click on the rendering sequence (bottom Job) we see in the right part of the Monitor all the Tasks (our Tiles).
We need to make our rendering sequence to be dependant from the beauty pass this is done by Drag and Drop the Job (not the Group) on top of the Prepass Job. Window will pop out to confirm it. Everything in the Task group must turn Orange as a sign that those Jobs are dependant. Now we are ready to resume the Prepass Job.
We need to Whitelist all Render Nodes and WS or Clean up the Blacklist in order to use all machines.
We are Done.
