Check that your file has:
Up-to-date masks
No errors (typical errors shown in the 'Quality Control' section of 'Retouch Guidelines'.
All PSDs need to be Adobe 98 colour profile unless otherwise stated in your brief. Check that your file is set to Adobe 98 and if not either:
1) If your PSD is a different colour profile, convert it to Adobe 98 before transferring any reference files to your PSD
Or 2) If your file is set to 'Unassigned profile', first assign SRGB and then convert to Adobe 98 colour profile before transferring any reference files from your PSD
All PSDs should have the same folder structure as this is a template. Try to keep PSDs tidy by working in the correct folders for each type of update. Below is a break down of the PSD templated folder structure and what to use each folder for:
GLOBAL: Post-production adjustments with either soft mask use or no masks
COMP: Compositing layers
CC: Colour Correction layers
FIXES: Retouch fixes to rendered file
RENDER: The outputted Tiff from 3D is stored here, you shouldn't ever need to go in this folder
MASKS: Masks of products and some props are stored here
Add any references to the Reference folder at the top of your PSD.
Reference files need to be the same colour profile as the PSDs before adding to the PSD.
If this isn't the case then convert your reference file to Adobe 98 before adding it to your PSD, don't save any adjustments to the original reference file.
Any references used should be added to the Refs folder at the top of the folder structure within your PSD.
You will find masks either in the sub folders of the CC folder of your PSD, or, the Masks folder of the PSD (as shown on the right):
Always check you have the necessary masks before starting a task, if this isn't the case either:
1) Request it with the producer if the mask is complex
or 2) Path the mask yourself if the mask is simple enough to create in a reasonable time
If there is a request in the brief to action a Proof comment, access Proof using the link provided in the brief to see the comments. You can use your CCW login details to access Proof, if you have any access issues let the retouch department or producer know.
Comments for the retouch department will have a header of RETOUCH or POST. Check through all comments to ensure you have covered each issue raised for the department.
