Asset Library Manager role and responsibilities.
Library Update - we have a lot of published assets with missing previews/descriptions, old models that needs updating.
Publishing Models - that includes all the unpublished models done internally or by freelancers
External Assets - a lot of assets from different external sources are being used in the lifestyle scenes (3D Sky, Turbosquid etc.). They are also being modified and fixed by the artist and they need to be published in the database as well.
Helping producers - looking for similar models in ou library to modify for any new projects.
Additional Assets - if the styling team has additional requests for buying models from the internet for future use in projects
In terms of publishing, assets in our library are divided into three major categories: Generic, Decor and Materials.
Generic assets are 90% of the models inside of the library - if you don't know what it is, then it most probably falls into this category.
Decor assets gather floor and wall surfaces only when they are made with geometry. In other words, if every plank on a wooden floor is a separate object as opposed to one plane with a material on top, then it will fall into the Decor category.
Material assets are quite self explanatory - sooner or later, every material ends in here.
Before uploading to the library, all of these assets require some initial preparation work which differs slightly based on the category they fall in.
