Priority Managers
Update Priority
Team: DD, RB, MM, TI, GM
Priority - This column represents the priority level assigned to each render job. Higher priority values typically indicate that the job should be processed before others with lower priority values. Priority must be between 30 and 99.
Job Name - This column contains the name of each render job in the Deadline.
Status - The Status column displays the current status of the render job, such as "Queued," "Rendering," "Completed," "Failed" etc.
Artist - This column lists the name of the artist responsible for the render job, i.e., the person who submitted the job/s.
Producer - The Producer column contains the name of the producer or project manager associated with the render job.
Stage - This column specifies the stage of render job, such as "Internal Draft" "Client Draft " or "Final" allowing easy categorization and sorting.
Resolution - The Resolution column indicates the output resolution or size for each render job, which affects the rendering time and output quality.
Type - This column specifies the type of render job, such as "LS", "ANIMATION", "CUTOUTS", "FUSION" etc. allowing easy categorization and sorting.
Renders - The Renders column indicate the number of render submitted for Job Name.
Render Time - The Render Time represents the estimated duration needed to render the entire task on a single machine. For instance, consider a kitchen lifestyle set with 30 tiles to be rendered. The fastest tile takes 30 minutes, while the slowest one takes 60 minutes. By calculating an average estimate of 45 minutes per tile and multiplying it by the number of tiles (30), we arrive at a total of 1350 minutes required to render this entire task on one machine.
Review Date - The Review Date column notes the date when the render output will be reviewed or assessed for approval.
Total Time - The 'Total Time' column is calculated using a formula that multiplies the number of renders by their respective render times and then divides the result by 60 minutes to convert it into hours.
REPO - This column specify the location or repository where the jobs are submitted for rendering.
Timestamp - The Timestamp column contains the date and time when the Job Name was filled in or modified.
Formula - This column is used to generate a render priority based on Review Date.
Every 66 seconds the system is collection the information from the Spreadsheet and all jobs currently submitted in Deadline. After that it will check if the job names in Deadline starts with the text filled in in column Job Name if it finds a match will set the current rendering status of the Job Name and the priority filled in in column Priority. At the end the Spreadsheet will be sorted by column A ("Priority")
**If status is Completed it will delete the spreadsheet row.
**If REPO is not present the script will not check this job. Basically the script don't see this row.
**If Job Name is empty and other columns are filled in the script will delete the row.
In this example you can see that the Job Name in spreadsheet is filled in correct and the system will set the corresponding priority for all deadline jobs

TWC001_BED_LAUNCHES_JUN23_SC05_ALDWYCH_COUNTRY - S04 [VRay Render] - Draft Tile Assembly
In this example because of the extra character "_" which is not present in submitted jobs in deadline the system will set priority to 10 for the jobs.

First how we set the correct status
In order to set the correct status in spreadsheet the system is collecting all corresponding deadline jobs and their statuses. Usually the statuses of the deadline jobs are different.
For example:
Job Name in Spreadsheet
TWC001_BED_LAUNCHES_JUN23_SC05_ALDWYCH_COUNTRY [Rendering]
Submitted Jobs Names in Deadline:
TWC001_BED_LAUNCHES_JUN23_SC05_ALDWYCH_COUNTRY - S01 [ VRay LC] 0f [Completed]
TWC001_BED_LAUNCHES_JUN23_SC05_ALDWYCH_COUNTRY - S01 [VRay Render] [Frame 0 - 30 Tiles] [Rendering]
TWC001_BED_LAUNCHES_JUN23_SC05_ALDWYCH_COUNTRY - S01 [VRay Render] - Draft Tile Assembly [Pending]
The formula to set the spreadsheet status to Completed is if the job is none of Rendering, Queued, Failed or Pending so it must be Completed.
Deleting jobs from spreadsheet
When you fill in your job in the Job Name column you must be sure that you have at least one job in deadline which is with one of this statuses: Rendering, Queued, Failed or Pending. Otherwise the system will see your job as Completed and it will delete it.
Other option is to not set the REPO location. In that case the system will not see your job at all. Just don't forget to set it back when you actually submit the job.
