BENSONS WILL SUPPLY A CUT OUT BRIEF WHICH DETAILS THE PROJECT DEADLINE, PRODUCT MODELS REQUIRED, FABRICS TO BE SHOWN, NUMBER OF CUT OUT IMAGES REQUIRED, FILE TYPES NEEDED AND FINAL NAMING CONVENTIONS.
IF WE NEED TO MODEL NEW PRODUCTS WHICH ARE AVAILABLE IN THE UK THE CAPTURE TEAM WILL TRAVEL TO SCAN & REF THE PRODUCT. IF PRODUCT IS NOT AVAILABLE BENSONS WILL SUPPLY TECH & IMAGERY TO FACILITATE MODELLING. IF NEW FABRICS ARE REQUIRED BENSONS WILL POST PHYSICAL SAMPLES FOR US TO CAPTURE IN THE MANCHESTER STUDIO.

PM WILL PROVIDE PBR SCANS & COLOUR CORRECTED IMAGES OF THE SAMPLES TO THE SHADER DEV TEAM. ONCE SHADERS ARE READY FOR REVIEW THE ARTIST WILL UPLOAD PREVIEW IN F-TRACK. IF READY FOR CLIENT THE PM WILL SHARE FOR REVIEW VIA PROOF HQ. ONCE APPROVED THE SHADERS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE CUT OUT TEAM.
THE CUT OUT TEAM WILL BUILD A FUSION SHEET BASED ON THE CLIENT SKU LIST AND WILL COMBINE THE MODELS AND SHADERS TO CREATE THE FINAL IMAGES REQUIRED. BENSONS STANDARD STUDIO AND LIGHTING SETUP WILL BE UTILISED. ONCE READY THE CUT OUTS ARE DELIVERED TO CLIENT VIA WETRANSFER. THEY ARE NOT REVIEWED AGAIN BECAUSE THE MODELS AND SHADERS HAVE BEEN APPROVED PRIOR.

THE PM AND STYLIST WILL PRESENT THE APPROVED SB TO THE 3D ARTIST TEAM. IF AN ANIMATION IS REQUIRED THE ARTIST WILL BE MADE AWARE AND ASKED TO USE A 3D BACKGROUND.

Number of unique models required.
Number of materials/fabrics required.
Number of cut outs required.
Number of true life swatches required.
Final file type, crop/ratio and resolution required.
Are the items which need to be modelled based in the UK and available for CCW to scan & shoot? If yes, we need to make a cost-based decision on whether it is cost effective to travel to the location and scan the products required. Modelling from a scan is much faster but if only x1 item is available it may not be viable and better to work from tech drawings and imagery. Discuss with AD.
If scanning is not a possibility we must request technical drawings and images from client which contain enough detail to allow us to accurately model the items. If unsure check with the modelling team what they require prior to requesting information.
Request physical samples of the fabrics that the client has mentioned on their brief.
Colour correction is quite subjective so it's important to query at this stage whether client would like us to match colour to the physical sample or to some online reference they already have on their website.
The Naming Conventions tab of the cut out brief contains the file names/skus which client would like us to use for the cut out images. It's important to double check that the number of cut outs specified matches with the number of skus on the brief.
Double check the front page briefing tab with the models required in the naming conventions tab to ensure there are no mistakes in the brief.
Number of images required.
Is it a product swap, rehash or a brand new set?
Client product required in the lifestyle images. Double check if we have already modelled all of the products requested, if we haven't we'll need to charge for modelling.
Client props required in the lifestyle image. Client will only include props sold by Bensons on the brief. If we have not already modelled the props specified we will need to model them for the set.
Materials required on the client product. Normally we will have created the requested material as part of the cut outs brief, however, on occasion the client may brief in a unique material just for the lifestyle imagery.
Final file type, crop/ratio and resolution required.
