Once work is completed, the next stage is to save any changes to your layered PSD file and create outputs or' Finals' of your work that can be supplied to the client.
Below is a break-down of all the default output settings required for files to be saved out as finals. Firstly check all images meet the following criteria unless a change of requirements is specified in the brief:
File size (PORTRAIT/LANDSCAPE) 6000 px by 4242 px / File size (SQUARE): 5000 px by 5000 px
Bit depth: 8 bit
Resolution: 300 ppi
Paths and Alpha channels: Removed
The file type (s) and colour profiles (s) required for outputs will be specified in your brief in the section named 'Output requirements'
We work within the 2D production folder in the P:Drive (shown to the right).
Outputs are saved in the P:Drive in the Finals folder of each project. The folder structure of projects should be identical and the finals folder can be found in the the same place for every job.
For each output required create a new folder within the finals folder. The naming convention for this is the colour profile followed by the file type. In the example to the right the brief required the following outputs:
ADOBE_98_TIFS
ADOBE_98_JPEGS
CMYK_TIFS
All PSDs should already be named correctly. All that needs to be done additionally is to add the suffix to the file name, detailing the colour profile of the outputs as in the example to the right.
Any edits to folder or filenames must include underscores "_" and never spaces as this can cause multiple IT issues.
