Wickes imagery is strongly client led due to the extent of their online product range. Wickes will provide all bathroom furnishings, accessories, lighting and even decor choices, so they tend to have a specific look in mind for each set, it's our job to bring all these elements together and propose a cohesive product focused design.
Spaces tend to look realistic and attainable to the usual wickes customer, with some exceptions that can be pushed a little further due to the product price point. All main products should be clearly visible and un-obstructed within the main shot however in slightly larger rooms the WC/ Bidet can be featured within a seperate cameo shot.
Wickes welcomes trend-inspired, style-led direction, yet must still be suitable for the low to mid-range, UK high-street market and must not detract too much from the product. We have, in the past, tailored trend predictions to suite the wickes customer, these tend to look more under-stated and focus heavily on prop styling.
The Head of Styling will usually be briefed directly by the client, or by client services who will then brief the project to the rest of the relevant styling team.
Wickes will provide a couple of Look & Feel images along with a suggestive architecture image for each set, we can use this as a basis and amend it to ensure good lighting or better product layout. They will also provide product imagery when possible, this is then followed by a detailed product sheet with general measurements, brand names and sometimes weblinks.

We provide the standard CCW- 4 page Styleboard, this includes the following pages an introduction, Look & Feel, Decor/Architecture & styling/Proppping.
Introduction- Should feel inspirational yet product focused, we don't need to write specific customer profiles for wickes.
Look & Feel- It's important to outline any specific lighting requirements here for clear lighting direction and therefore clear client approval.
Decor & Architecture - All decor elements (with the exeption of windows & doors) should be referenced from the wickes website as individual products. As a result this page may look a little more detailed than usual.
Styling & Props - Props should be unbranded, well presented and should not block view of the product. Lighting and shower/bath niches should be referenced as Wickes product too.
Suggest privacy glass options unless the set looks onto a privately enclosed garden space.
Prop above WC's
Show ALL products in the main camera,
WC/Bidets' may be an exception to the rule if they are featured within a separate cameo shot.
Use unbranded toiletries, either remove text from labels or style with generic items, such as towels, vases, toothbrushes, bars of soap, plants and wall art.
Group Items in threes, and consider placing them at the edge of shot without blocking or distracting from the product.
Don't leave cameos looking too empty, add context with additional props, product or doorframes.
Add messy looking towel or robe geometries.
Don't use wall hung accessories that are not supplied by wickes. This includes soap dispensers, wall mounted shelving and toothbrush holders.
