From the ODH House Committee report 15 March 1932 – As directed at last meeting I notified matron to ask nurse McGladery to endeavour to obtain an engagement in Melbourne for her 4th year.
From the ODH House Committee report 13 December 1932 – Nurse McGladdery is away on holidays.
Passed final examinations March 1933 – PERSONAL – Nurse Vira McGladdery of the Ovens District Hospital, was among the successful candidates at the recent nurses’ examinations held under the Nurses’ Board. Ovens and Murray Advertiser, 22 March 1933.
Awarded qualification Beechworth Hospital, April 1933.
May 1933 - nursing privately at Rockbank Farm near Tallarook.
1934 - nurse Women’s Hospital, Melbourne
1935 at 38 Tooronga Road, East Malvern.

Possibly arrived in New Zealand on the Wanganella in December 1937.
