From the Ovens Disrrict Hospital (ODH)  House Committee report 5 September 1904 – Miss L. Williams had been appointed to the vacancy among the probationer nurses.

 

From the October 1904 UNA Journal - OVENS DISTRICT HOSPITAL, Miss Williams has joined our training school. M. WINNING, Matron.

 

From the July 1907 UNA Journal - The final examinations were held at the Guild Hall, Melbourne, and Alfred Hospital, and Amherst. Ballarat, Bendigo, and Beechworth hospitals on 12th and 13th June. Ovens Hospital: Nurse Williams.

 

… OVENS DISTRICT HOSPITAL. Nurse Williams was our only candidate at the recent final examinations, and I am very pleased to say was successful in passing. She finishes her course of training, and leaves the hospital on the 7th August. … M. WINNING, Matron.

 

From the ODH House Committee report 21 August 1905 - … also that the Junior Nurses’ examination was held on August 8th; there were four candidates and Nurses Moore, Williams and Burke passed.

 

From the ODH Inpatient Register 1 January 1906 – 28 April 1925. Admitted as a patient with influenza 17 November 1906 – discharged 30 November to the care of her aunt, Mrs Dale, Meldrum Street, Wangaratta.

 

From the ODH House Committee report 5 August 1907 – Nurse Williams had completed her training and her certificate was ready for presentation.

 

Date of qualification 25 August 1907.

 

1908 married Thomas Murphy.

 

August 1915 – June 1916 Membership list Una Journal - Murphy (nee Williams, Lucilla, 49 Dwyer-st., Clifton Hill—Cert. Ovens District Hospital, August, 1907. Exam., June, 1907.

 

At 85 Nelson Road, South Melbourne from July 1916 to at least September 1919.

 

1922 ER Lucilla & Thomas, a clerk, at 376 Coventry Street, South Melbourne.

 

1924 Lucilla & Thomas are living at 284 Hope Street, Brunswick.

 

1926 & 1927 address is 18 Ovens Street, Brunswick

 

1931,1932 & 1936 address is 9 Melville Road, Brunswick West

 

Died April 1936 aged 52 – buried Melbourne General Cemetery, 27 April 1936. Death entry states she was born at Fitzroy and her father is listed as John Edward Young & her mother as Marion Young. Born about 1884. Don’t know why father’s name is Young. Unable to ascertain the Williams connection.
