Born 2 April 1880 to John Terry Hughes McRae and Margaret Bruce Frater, Murrumburrah, NSW. Father took up a pre-emptive lease at Murrumburrah in 1866. Flora was the third child of eleven children.

From the ODH House Committee report 8 August 1910 – The Secretary reported … also that Nurse McRae had satisfactorily completed her three months on trial and passed the medical officer’s examination as to her physical fitness; her indentures were ready for signature.
From the minutes of the ODH board meeting August 9 1910 - … the seal of the hospital was affixed to the indentures of Nurse F. McRae.
From the ODH Inpatient Register 1 January 1906-28 April, 1925. Admitted as a patient with measles on 9 May 1911. 30 May 1911 discharged to her father in Murrumburrah, New South Wales. The property at Murrumburrah was substantial; consisting of 300 acres and a comfortable stone and weatherboard house with eight rooms.

From the ODH Inpatient Register 1 January 1906-28 April, 1925. Admitted as a patient with gastric influenza on 13 February 1912. 11 April 1912 discharged to her father, John McRae, in Murrumburrah, New South Wales.
From the ODH House Committee 4 March 1913 – A special meeting was held to consider the suspension of Nurse McRae by the Matron. The Matron explained that Nurse McRae refused to work under nurses with longer experience than herself and the work of the ward was disorganized in consequence. Nurse McRae was called in and made a statement but on the Chairman explaining the position to her she promised to comply with the hospital’s rules and not cause trouble in the future.
From the ODH House Committee 9 July 1913 – The Secretary reported that Nurse McRae had passed her final examinations for trained nurses.
From the minutes of the ODH board meeting August 12 1913, the seal of the hospital was affixed to the certificate of Nurse McRae and the indentures of Nurse Porter ….

McRae – August 1, 1925 at his residence Ben Lomond, Minto, John beloved husband of Margaret McRae, aged 84 years. Funeral at Murrumburrah, Tuesday afternoon 4th inst. Sydney Morning Herald, 3 August 1925.

OBITUARY
MRS. MARGARET McRAE
The death took place on Friday last at the residence of her youngest daughter, Marion (Mrs Henry Clever-don, "Clevdon Brook," Murrumburrah) of Mrs. Margaret McRae, widow of the late Mr John McRae, of Wombat, at the age of 84 years. The deceased lady, who was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Bruce Frater, was born at Ballarat, Victoria, in 1858, and at an early age came to Wombat with her parents. After her marriage to Mr. John McRae, she settled on the land with her husband at Wombat, where she had lived practically ever since. In late years she had been residing with her daughter Marion, and had enjoyed splendid health up to within a few days of her death, when she had a stroke from which she never recovered. Possessed of a kind and lovable disposition, she was held in the highest esteem by all in the community. She is survived by a grown-up family of two sons and eight daughters to mourn their sad loss. The-sons are William A. (Murrumburrah) and John P. (Sydney). the daughters being Jean (Scotland), Elizabeth and Margaret (Terrigal), Florence and Beatrice (Minto), Mary (Sydney), Katherine (Auckland, N.Z.), and Marion (Clevdon Brook, Murrumburrah). Besides her husband one daughter (Ellen) predeceased her many years ago. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon to the Church of England portion of the Murrumburrah cemetery, the Rev. S. North officiating at the graveside, assisted by Rev. King. Murrumburrah Signal and County of Harden Advocate, 29 January 1942.
1932 ER Flora is a nurse living at Minto, Sydney.
Died 15 April 1957 at Camden District Hospital. Buried St. Peter’s Anglican Church cemetery at Campbelltown.
