Winifred Constance Joyce Boucher

1906-1930

Born 22 October, 1906 Hobart, Tasmania. Parents Alfred George Boucher & Hester Taylor. Father a labourer. One of four children.

 1928 ER is at Nhill with parents.

 Miss Winifred Boucher, of Nhill, has been appointed to the nursing staff of the Ovens District Hospital, Beechworth - The Advertiser, Adelaide, 17 December 1929 page 24.

 From the ODH House Committee report 17 December 1929 – Nurse Channon of Beechworth and nurses Carr, Griffin, Boucher and Hoare of this hospital had done excellent work in collecting.

 1931 ER ODH Nurse.

 Appears to have passed final exams (Beechworth) July 1933, see The Herald dated 3 Aug 1933.

 Date of qualification, October 1933.

 The 1934 April Register of Nurses & the 1936 ER has Winifred’s address as 17 Holbrook Street, Launceston, Tasmania.

 1936 & 37 ER nurse, living at home with her mother at Underwood, Tasmania

 Died in Tasmania 20 November 1939 aged 34. Died Royal Hobart Hospital. Buried Cornelian Bay Cemetery and Crematorium, Hobart.

BOUCHER:-On November 20, 1930, at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Winifred Constance, beloved second eldest daughter of Alfred and Hester Boucher, of Launceston, in the 34th year of her age. RIP.

BOUCHER.-Funeral of the late Miss Winifred Constance Boucher will move from the residence of her sister, -Mrs. E. McQueeney, 260 Liverpool Street, Hobart, on Wednesday (Tomorrow) at 10 a.m., arriving: at Cornelian Day Cemetery at 10.20 a.m., when friends are respectfully invited to attend.
