OBITUARY
MISS FRANCES MARY MILNE
News was received in Myrtleford on Saturday morning of the death in Melbourne earlier that day [22 January 1949] of Miss Francis May Milne, more familiarly known as May Milne. Deceased had not enjoyed the best of health for some years but her relatives did not expect the news so suddenly.
The late Miss Milne was a native of Myrtleford, being the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Edward Milne, and her lifetime up until seven years ago was spent here. She was a trained nurse in her earlier life; and she was very highly esteemed by all who knew her; and genuine regret has been felt at her passing.
On the death of her brother, Harry, in October 1941, the late Miss Milne went to reside with her sister in Melbourne. Left to mourn their loss are one brother, (Jack) and one sister (Prudence) both of Melbourne; and many other family relatives.
Internment took place in Melbourne on Monday afternoon. Myrtleford Times and Ovens Valley Advertiser, 26 January 1949.
Buried with her sister Nell at Cheltenham.
[1] & [2] Should read brother rather than father.
