Trevor Rogers

Trevor Rogers was born in Manchester on July 28, 1945, and began riding in 1964.

He had to wait until 1978 to record double figures for the first time in this country though it should be recorded that he scored no less than 39 winners in the 1971-72 season in Madras to become India's champion jockey.

He served his apprenticeship under both Les Hall and Sam Armstrong before working at Tom Jones's Newmarket yard.

Trevor won his first race riding Giddaby at Newbury on June 15, 1967.

He gained his first pattern race victory on Prince's Gate at Evry, France in April 1983.

His first win in a group race came on Saturday, October 24, 1981, when Ghadeer (6/4 fav) stormed home in the Premio Carlo Porta over 10 furlongs at San Siro Milan.
