Cross-Curriculum Connection (Social Studies/English)

Ms. Kates includes the link to the United Nations Bill of Human Rights in her English class and the American History, African-American History and American Government courses reference the United States Bill of Rights included in the U.S. Constitution.

Review both documents.  Notice how they are very similar.  SELECT 1-2 laws in each document that Directly relate to someone's Health or Wellness and Select 1-2 laws from each document that In-Directly relate to someone's Health or Wellness.  To make it easier, you can select laws that are similar in each document rather than doing separate answers.

Submit a paper via email to me for extra credit..include your name, do not post into google classroom.

Counts for the same as 1 writing prompt grade (email it to teacher)

Make it a full essay? It can count for 3 writing  prompt grades

The graphic below, was created by students in the class of 2020 during the 2018-2019 school year in Health education class

"Empathy" created by Brene' Brown It has also been shown in English class and Social Studies class too!

Examine the "Understand" graphic created by students OR the "Empathy" video.  Create a summary and application refleciton on how you can better improve your relationships with others and contributions to society and/or your relationships byt better understanding and applying principals brought out in these two items.

Counts for a substitute writing prompt for each.

WORDS ARE POWERFUL

Occasionally, words are used in Health class (or in society for that matter) that are harmful HOWEVER, they are said by mistake.  This could be because the person saying it did not realize it was offensive, the person saying it did not think it was offensive, or the listener may have heard the word out of context.

If you ever hear a word that is said in class by the teacher or another student, please say or type in the chat “oops”.  The teacher will stop then you can follow the format on the image to the right
