In a simple world, Drugs would be used to treat illness and help people's bodies stay in constant balance. Sadly, Drugs are a much bigger and widespread problem. Although undoubtedly some drugs, when used correctly, serve a purpose of healing and/or correction, the statement below is the absolute, 100% main idea students should learn from the topic of Substance Abuse.

Hundreds of Thousands of people ABUSE drugs every day and their affects are far-reaching effecting not just one's Physical Health (for better or worse depending on what they are using and why) but also loved ones, family, friends, community and society as a whole. Please note however that for 11th grade Health Education class at Rush Arts, we will not look at the majority of these topics in class in favor of a more decision-making, advocacy overview approach.

*NOTE that Marijuana is not federally legal and within the state of Pennsylvania, not legal for recreational use. Medical use is legal in PA so long as it is not smoked. Alcohol, Marijuana and Tobacco combined are typically called the "Big 3" as they are the most used recreational drugs in the World
