Inhalant Abuse and it's subsequent dangers, varies by geographical location. In the Philadelphia region, Inhalant Abuse tends to be more common in Elementary and Middle School age adolescents with the exception of some, "pre-gaming" or tailgating before concerts and sporting events and occasional use as a club drug.

It is sometimes referred to as Bagging or Huffing, depending on how it is actually done, and involves the purposeful inhalation of the vapors of harmful chemicals. This in turn cuts off oxygen to the brain and creates a high that is usually short lived. However, it can cause permanent brain damage, stroke, seizure and immediate death.

People inhale fumes from markers, model glue, spray paint, nail polish, lighter fluid, cleaning agents, Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) and even things like Horse Manure.
