Once a woman finds out she is pregnant..she is faced with a major decision with 3 possible outcomes:

 1) Have the baby        2)  Place the baby up for adoption          3)  Have an abortion

If choosing to have the baby, one must consider if they will be alone or will they have support of a partner and if they are ready for the responsibility of being a parent.

In terms of adoption and abortion, rules differ from state to state. Some states allow for open adoptions (where the birth mother knows and selects the adopting parents) and some allow only closed adoptions (secret).  Some states also have voluntary foster care until a mother can get their baby back.

YouTube videos and articles on Adoption and Abortion tend to be very much one-sided due to the fact that both are somewhat controversial.  For Adoption, the controversy is the cost associated with infant adoption which stops many people from doing it.  For Abortion, it is probably the most if not one of the most controversial  and  divisive topics in America and often fuels election results as many people vote solely on a candidate's position with this topic.  The controversy itself is much simpler than the range of people's views on the topics though.  It simply stems from one simple question:

                                                                                                When does life actually begin?

Different views on this lead to different decisions.  Here are varied positions on when some people think life begins:

a) at the moment of conception/fertilization

b) once the blastocyst implants itself into the Uterus Lining (aka the Pregnancy takes)

c) When the heart starts beating

d) When the baby can live on its own outside the mother's womb

e) After delivery/birth

NOTE:  The Supreme Court's landmark decision during Roe vs Wade determined it was the Women's right to choose if she could have an abortion or not but that each individual state would create rules.  For Pennsylvania, as indicated above, elective abortions can only take place up until the 24th week.
