Crystal Meth (Methamphetamine)
What Crack is to Cocaine, Crystal Meth is to Methamphetamine.
Crystal meth is short for crystal methamphetamine and is a very potent, very addicting, form of the drug methamphetamine. Crystal meth is comparable to Heroin in the number of total users in this country with specific geographical preferences. Some people consider it a club drug because many ravers take it to be able to party all night. Its most common street names are ice or glass. It is technically a psychoactive stimulant and is HIGHLY addicting. In the 1990s, drug trafficking organizations set up large laboratories in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas. The award winning television series "Breaking Bad" followed the life of a high school chemistry teacher turned drug "cooker" who worked in a lab.
Methamphetamine is illegal for most uses in all 50 states as of 1970, although many of it's ingredients are found in legal medications. In general it is a crystalline drug that people take by crushing and snorting, smoking it or injecting it with a needle. It's street names when not made into "crystal meth" include meth, crank, or speed.
