HoFMeister’s Report
120 people have been recorded for 2024 in the P100m Table (114 in 2023), as well as four deceased peak-baggers. There are now thirty-nine in the Hall of Fame and eighty-two in the Progress Registers. Five people did not feature in this year’s progress register, as they climbed no new P100m peaks in 2024. From 2024, the rules have been changed so that you need to have climbed at least one new peak in a P-Category to feature in the Progress Register for that year.
Bob Packard remains supreme again in the P100m Table - the only holder so far of the Gold Award. The four Silver Award holders still tail a long way behind him.
In terms of peak-count for the Hall in 2024, Adam Walker again took the crown with 303, exceeding his 2023 record of 244 by a wide margin. In the Progress Register, David Chapman also took the lead again with 215 (278 in 2023).
In total, 8,124 successful ascents of P100m peaks were made in 2024 (6,488 in 2023), averaging sixty-eight per person (fifty-seven in 2023). This is a considerable increase in peak-bagging activity.
There were no new Awards for 2024, although Martin Richardson looks on course for a Silver in 2025, and Joseph Nuernberger for a Bronze.
I am pleased to welcome a record nine new members into the P100m Hall of Fame – newcomers Serge Massad and Craig Jagow, as well as Michael Graupe, Sean Casserly, Brent Lynam, Steve Smith, James Barlow, and William and Linda Ross from the Progress Register. James’ entry is particularly laudable, given his long and painful recovery after his near fatal accident on Vihren 2914m, P1783m in Bulgaria in November 2023.
Reaching 10% foreign peaks to gain Hall entry is still proving to be a challenge for many British members in the Progress Register.
Looking at the peaks (where known) that marked people’s entry into the Hall of Fame, ones in the North America continue to predominate, with eighteen, followed by Europe with fourteen.
P100m Calendar Rounds
I am introducing a new feature this year in my P100m report – Peak-bagging Calendar Rounds – for further details see the 2024 HoFClerk’s Report here.
In 2024 David Chapman completed a P100m Calendar Round on Sir William Hill 429m, P123m in England, UK. Congratulations, David!

Nine people are within seven days of completing one: Daryn Dodge, Martin Shetter, Richard Carey, Craig Barlow, Bob Sumner, Laura Newman, Chad Thomas, Petter Bjørstad and Rob Woodall.
