International Peak-baggers' Tables 2020

P1500m

HoFMeister’s Report

Forty-two people have been recorded in the final edition of the P1500m Table for 2020, as well as eight deceased peak-baggers - five in the Hall of Fame and three in the Roll of Honour.

The most notable P1500m peak-bagging total was from Alastair Govan, with eighteen Ultras, from trips to Central America early in 2020 before the pandemic, and Greece in August/September.  Seven other people added ten or more Ultras – Rob Woodall, "Rockinstraw", David Hart, Adam Walker, Connor McEntee, Steven Song, and Deividas Valaitis.  Greece was a favoured destination, as, besides Alastair, Rob and Deividas were also peak-bagging there separately in the autumn.

The first person to qualify for the Hall was the late Frederick Johnson, who secured his retrospective place in 1951.  One person entered the Hall in 2020 - Mihai Giurgiulescu.  Amongst the milestone peaks (thirty for Hall entry), country high points for Hall entry were Mulhacén 3479m, P3289m (Spanish Mainland) for Denise McLellan,  Kilimanjaro 5895m, P5885m (Tanzania) for Chris Hood, Triglav, 2864m, P2052m (Slovenia) for Graham Illing, Denali 6190m, P6145m (USA) for Barbara Lilley, Elbrus 5642m, P4741 (Russia) for Patrick Thornley, and Kinabalu 4095m, P4095m (Malaysia) for “Habakuk Tibatong” in 2013.

Twenty-one Awards have been achieved - Gold by two, Silver by four, and Bronze by fifteen people.
