The BwB Journal 2023 – December Edition

This is the fourth edition of the BwB Journal. From 2024, one edition per year will be published on the BwB website, most likely around June or July.

My thanks go, as usual, to all who have contributed articles.

In this edition five articles appear, all devoted to either Europe or Asia.  No particular overall theme emerges.  I had hoped for a contribution for the opinion column for this edition, but none was forthcoming.  It would be good if someone could write a different view to feature in the next edition to the excellent piece provided by Richard Harbron (see here) in the last edition.

Since its inception in 2019-2020, Baggers without Borders has expanded every year, and the work to maintain and enhance it has grown also.  We now have one HoFMeister for each of the annual Tables, but it would be good to get even more people involved.  To that end, I am now looking for someone to take over as editor of the BwB Journal.  If you are interested, please contact the BwB HoFClerk at the email address given on the home page of the website.

I wish you all a safe and fruitful bagging in 2024, whether it be summer or winter where you are.

In particular, I wish to offer wishes for a speedy recovery to James Barlow, author of the article on Tajikistan in this edition, who had a serious accident last month descending Vihren 2914m, P1783m in Bulgaria (see here).  For an update on his progress to recovery, see his Instagram page at #recovering____james.
