International Peak-baggers' Tables 2021

P600m

HoFMeister’s Report

One hundred and eight people are listed for the 2021 Table (eighty-six in 2020), including seventeen new entrants, with five new  Awards achieved.  Ten deceased peak-baggers also appear - six in the Hall of Fame, and four in the Roll of Honour.  Despite Covid-19 restrictions continuing to make travelling difficult, progress was made by forty-one Hall members, and by thirty-nine of the fifty-three Progress Register members.

A new feature in the 2021 P600m Table is a separate Progress Register for junior peak-baggers.

Rob Woodall earns a Gold Award for passing the 1000 mark during the year, adding 155 Majors, mainly in Europe, but with a single USA peak which edged his P-Index to the 800m mark on the last day of the year.  Petter Bjørstad added 51, mainly in Scandinavia, but also including trips to Turkey and Greece.  A Gold Award for him is now only 20 peaks away.  Brian Kalet had another busy year, adding 118 peaks, with Gold looking distinctly possible for next year.

Josef Nuernberger earns a Silver Award, adding 94 new Majors, in the USA and Europe, to reach 600 by the end of the year.  Connor McEntee added 85, mainly in the USA, with a trip to Greece.  Deividas Valaitas added 107, travelling widely in Europe, including Scandinavia and Ireland.

James Barlow and Steven Song earn Bronze Awards, passing the 300 mark this year.  James added 28 peaks, making good use of his recent transfer to Europe.  Steven’s 61 new peaks were mainly in Canada, with a December trip to bag some USA Desert Peaks.  Duane Gilliland, a new entrant for the second edition of the 2021 Table, also earns a retrospective Bronze Award, having entered the Hall in 2008.  He added 16 peaks in 2021, all in the USA.

Oscar Argudo (+29) and Anthony Marra (+16) progressed to the Hall this year, with Oscar including the challenging Monte Viso and Argentera, and Anthony climbing Mount Rainier twice – in January followed by a stunning ski descent, and again in June when he summitted with a three-year-old!  Also new to the Hall are Peter Gram, with 9 new USA peaks in 2021, and Alex Lennon, who retrospectively joined the Hall in 2019, with 26 peaks in the USA in 2021.

New to the Progress Register this year are father and son Rok and Žiga Podgornik , Michael Krokos, Fergal Hingerty (his new peak this year being Ararat, which is now open again), Patrick Toland, Steve Dixon, Tom Milliard, David Howells, Richard Harbron, Emil Maipo, Christos Kyriazopoulos, Arjan van Denzen, Darryl Hemsley, Jan Riefer and Emanuel  Fieles-Pyschny; these European entrants are joined by Ed Wandall, Sawyer Romig and Sage  Kallestad (USA), and Sean Caulfield and 'Michel W' (Canada).
