International Peak-baggers' Tables 2022

P500m

HoFMeister’s Report

2022 is the third year for the P500m Hall of Fame and Progress Register.  There is not yet a Roll of Honour for this Table.  One hundred and twenty-two people have been recorded for the 2022 edition (one hundred and one in 2021), sixty-nine in the Hall of Fame, forty-seven in the Progress Register and six in the separate Progress Register for junior peak-baggers.

In the Hall, Rob Woodall, Deividas Valaitis and Craig Barlow added over a hundred new P500m peaks to their totals, and Josef Nuernberger almost reached this target, closing the year with ninety-nine new peaks added.

Twelve baggers freshly entered the Hall, most of them (Daryn Dodge, Craig Barlow, José Martínez, Scott Surgent, Casey McCoy, Claudia Kurzböck, Alan Dawson, Markus Fischer and Dave Golias) directly, without passing through the Progress Register.

Among the people in the Hall, almost anyone entered it with a different “Entry peak”, confirming the great diversity of goals offered by the P500m summits around the world.

The number of junior peak-baggers decreased from seven to six because Jan Riefer officially became an adult and so entered the “general” section of the Progress Register.  Besides him, another twelve baggers entered the Progress Register in 2002.  Among them must be noted David Chapman: with his 149 P500m peaks bagged, he just lacks one new peak in order to enter the Hall; Linda Ross and Willy Ross, with their 144 peaks each, follow him at a short distance.

Thirty-two Awards have so far been achieved - Gold by three people, Silver by six, and Bronze by twenty-three people.  Six new awards were given in 2022: Gold to Rob Woodall,  Silver to Josef Nuernberger and  Bronze to Daryn Dodge, Craig Barlow, David Hart  and Michael Graupe. Josef Nuernberger shows in 2022 an impressive list of P500m Spanish  peaks bagged, while Rob Woodall, besides European and USA mountains, also bagged summits in Argentina (like Cerro Taficillo) and Indonesia (e.g. Malintang).
