Welcome to the third P-Index League Table. Since 2023, seven new people have registered for a place in the 2024 tables, with just one securing a position in the top 50. The tie-break rules (see here) were needed for four people this year.
Once again, members have been very active over the last 12 months, and the minimum P-Index required to secure a place in the top 50 has risen from 398 in 2023 to 420 in 2024.
In the 2024 table, 82% of participants now live in North America (78% in 2023), 78% in the USA and 18% in Europe (22% in 2023), with 10% in the UK.
In Division 1 the top seven rankings remained the same, and all ten were occupied by the same people as in 2023. Rob Woodall and Petter Bjørstad further extended their lead above third place.
In Division 2 there was also not a lot of movement in the rankings, but there were some impressive increases by Denise McLellan and Kathy Rich, while Deividas Valaitis remained once more just outside the top 10.
In Division 3 there were impressive increases by David Hart (+63 and 4th equal highest) and also Chris Kerth, David Carmody and Karen Jones.
In Division 4 there was a new arrival from Chad Thomas (+66 and 2nd highest), and Dustin Erickson climbed up from Division 5 with +81 - the highest increase of the year. A mention also for Daniel Coulter, whose similarly impressive increase of 63 propelled him furthest up this year’s league table (11 places).
In Division 5 we have new entries from Paul Klenke, Jay Dolan and Matt Juhasz, whose increase of 64 was the 3rd highest of the year.
Well done to everyone in the top 50 for your combined efforts!
As it stands, there are seven members presently above 400 who have realistic chances of breaking into the top 50 next year.
Having considered some suggestions from BwB members, next year’s P-Index League will expand to 100 places (10 Divisions) in two Tables. This will provide more interest for those lower down the ladder. If you don’t want to be included in the expanded Tables for 2025, please email the BwB HoFClerk.
My thanks to Mark Trengove for overseeing my efforts this year, and for all his help.
